Subiaco Community Men's Shed
The Subiaco Community Men's Shed was established in June 2010 and has doubled in membership and size since then.
The Subiaco Community Men's Shed (SCMS) is a place of acceptance, mateship and activity for all men. Enriching the lives and enhancing the well-being and health of local men.
The SCMS offers a well-equipped, first-class facility to learn new skills, engage with and support your local community, and make new friends.
It's a great meeting place for social interaction with an emphasis on activities such as:
Woodwork
Wood turning
Metalwork
Other activities, as requested by our members, such as photography and computing.
Our members can work on their own projects. Still, it is also intended that the Shed produces articles and carries out activities for other community groups, and raises funds to support the Shed's running costs.
Our Vision
Provide an accessible, safe, friendly, and welcoming inclusive environment that fosters camaraderie, contributes to the improved health, happiness, and well-being of all shed members, thereby benefiting the Subiaco Community.
Our Mission
Facilitate the operation of a SCMS facility located in the City of Subiaco that will enable members of the community to come together and share their experiences in life, develop new skills and friendships, pursue their hobbies, undertake community projects and/or talk with shed members to promote longer, more active, healthier and happier lives.
Our Values
Promote awareness of the mental, physical, emotional and economic well-being of people in our community;
Make a substantial contribution to the Subiaco community.
Maintain an open-door policy for men over 18 years old that will not reject any person based on race, ability, or religion;
Maintain good governance and integrity;
Respect the rights and decisions of members;
Empower individuals; and
Ensure a sustainable membership organisation.
